In 2015 Paradox moved their forums from vBulletin to Xenforo software. At the same time they integrated the forum login with the Paradox login. This means that old forum accounts can no longer log in, but must first be merged with (imported into) a Paradox account.
Once an old forum account has been merged with one Paradox account, it can never be merged again with any other.
Once a Paradox account has had an old forum account merged with it, no other old forum account can be merged into it.
No forum accounts or details have been lost or deleted.
If you do not have a Paradox account yet:
- Make a new Paradox account at accounts.paradoxplaza.com using the same email as your old forum account. Do not give it any forum (social) name at this point! Once the email address is confirmed, visit the new forums
and the system will automatically offer to merge in the old forum account with the same email. Provide the password to that old forum account when asked, and all posts, avatars, and game registrations will be imported. The account can then be used to access the forums immediately. There is a password reset function in the Merge dialog, if you have forgotten your old forum password.
If you do not know the email of your old forum account or no longer have access to that email we will have to help you manually; please log a support ticket at paradox.zendesk.com and supply all relevant details.
DO NOT try entering your old forum name into a new Paradox account with a different email to the one your old forum account used, we will just have to undo that.
If you have a Paradox account already:
Proceed as one of the above options, depending on whether its email matches that of your old forum account.
Do not register any games or DLCs to any account until you have everything above sorted out, accounts successfully merged, and emails confirmed. We have no way of moving game registrations between Paradox or old forum accounts, and dealing with these after the fact is very difficult and time consuming.
Do not make duplicate Paradox accounts to try and fix or work around any problem you encounter. Duplicate accounts are not allowed, and in any case can never help with any problem, they only make things more difficult and complex to fix.
If in any doubt or you have any problem not covered above STOP and log a new ticket at paradox.zendesk.com with all relevant details. It is always easier to fix a problem at the start.
